Jesus calls people from ordinary places into His army. The question is not whether anything good can come out of Rochester, Tuscaloosa, Kimball, or wherever somebody came from. The question is whether a person is willing to take the journey with Jesus and let Him teach them how to walk in His power. The power in the name of Jesus is not only for personal healing, but also for becoming healing for other people.
God’s grace meets people who have been through things, made mistakes, and heard the devil push them toward despair. The devil is a liar, because a believer is on a journey with Jesus, not on a journey with the devil. The name of Jesus breaks chains of sickness, addiction, loneliness, and every kind of bondage. The call is simple: “Lord, I’ll go.”
Labor Day calls believers to look beyond a day off, a cookout, or the end of summer. God calls His people to seek His heart concerning workers, the poor, the underprivileged, employers, and employees. Holidays can become holy days when God’s people look at them through God’s eyes.
Third John 2 gives the foundation for prospering in the will of God: “Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.” Abundance has always been God’s will for the human race. Genesis shows God planting a garden full of trees that were pleasant to look at and good for food, giving humanity freedom to enjoy His provision. Sin disconnected humanity from God, and that disconnection brought toil, thorns, desolation, and death.
Jesus came to restore what the thief steals, kills, and destroys. John 10:10 declares that Jesus came so people could have life and have it more abundantly. Prosperity means more than money. Prosperity means fullness in spirit, soul, body, relationships, and finances. God desires salvation, the Holy Ghost, peace, joy, healing, strength, harmony in homes, and provision for every need.
The blessing of the Lord does not make greed holy, and poverty does not make a person free from loving money. Deuteronomy declares that God gives His people power to get wealth so that He may establish His covenant. God wants more than enough so His people can glorify Him, obey Him without being ruled by worry or people, advance the kingdom through the church, and help neighbors who need groceries, tires, or even greater provision. God’s abundance is meant to flow through His people into a world trapped in lack, scarcity, and poverty.

Key Takeaways
- 1. Jesus calls ordinary people into power [30:55] Jesus does not wait for people to come from impressive places or clean up every part of their past. His call reaches into hometowns, jobs, military service, mistakes, and broken places. His journey teaches ordinary people to walk in supernatural power for the sake of others. [30:55]
- 2. The devil cannot cancel grace [34:01] The enemy may push a believer toward the edge and accuse them of having lost everything. Grace declares that the believer belongs to Jesus and remains on His journey. God’s presence is stronger than the voice that tries to define a person by failure or fear. [34:01]
- 3. Prosperity means wholeness in every area [46:05] God’s abundance includes spirit, soul, body, relationships, and finances. Spiritual prosperity includes being born again and growing in the Holy Ghost, while soul prosperity includes peace, joy, and a sound mind. Financial increase belongs within this larger picture of God making people whole. [46:05]
- 4. Poverty does not defeat greed [48:48] A person can be broke and still be ruled by the love of money. Lack can become a tool of bondage when dreams of quick wealth begin directing a person’s choices. God’s provision must lead to remembrance, obedience, and freedom, not worship of money or worldly systems. [48:48]
- 5. More than enough blesses the world [54:21] God gives abundance so that needs are met and generosity becomes possible. A believer with more than enough can help a neighbor with groceries, provide tires for someone in need, and strengthen the work of the church. God’s plan is for His people to become channels through whom His goodness flows into a world of scarcity.
