#AnchoredInTruth
“Remain vigilant, discerning, and anchored in the truth. And in the story of Absalom, learn that through treachery, that may come in a whisper and may penetrate in the hearts of men, the purposes of God nonetheless stand immovable and every shadow of betrayal becomes only a backdrop for the faithfulness of God. And even when all looks lost, when the kingdom trembles, when the god of this world seems to win again, when darkness appears to swallow up every promise and hope, Christ assures us he is coming back and will establish his king and do away with all evil forever.”

#GodProtectsHisPeople
“Even when the enemy looks like he's getting the upper hand, God is always in control. And the story of Absalom becomes then more than a tale of ancient treachery. It becomes a testimony to the God who guards his people, even in their darkest hours, and writes his purposes across history with a hand that no enemy can stop. what can we say was accomplished by Absalom's treachery? Damage, pain, sorrow, humiliation, division, brokenness, suffering, and the need for someone to help put it all back together.”

#GodWorkingInTheValley
“David walked through a valley he didn't understand and he was wounded by a son he loved, betrayed by hearts who he once trusted, and surrounded by a darkness he couldn't see through. Yet even there, God was already working, already overturning the counsel of the wicked, already preparing a path of restoration. And the rebellion that in whispers fell under the weight of divine providence. God was in control.”
