"and i have the topic the faith of abraham and i may say that this man abraham is a big challenge to us it's a big lesson to us because he's been viewed in in in so many applications he said to be a system or a pattern of operation in relation to god and how he deals with his people so god declared him father of many nations and this after this morning you may ask yourself how is abraham related to me he's related to you in your journey in your trajectory in where you are going with your life or where your life has to go because if we look at this scheme of things we all do have a past a present and a future and god is always using examples like abraham to tell you of your past to tell you of your present and of course your future and abraham's life is a big challenge to us because his life exemplifies how god transforms his people like he wants you to get to the top of your life and he wants you to get to the top of your life and he wants you to top but he doesn't just grab you from the bottom of the stairs and transport you to the top your life is a faith journey and that includes taking one step at a time going around the bend on that staircase eventually to take you to the top but" [00:00:02]

"you can have multiple steps you'd have to trust the one who is leading you and that person is in jesus and so the bible defines faith as this now faith is a substance and i don't want to go into that fully because if i do that would take another we know that but says for by this our elders obtained a good report now verse 3 of hebrews chapter 11 verse 3 says by faith we understand and i'm trying to tease you into the subject of faith so that you yourself will find time and question your faith try your faith test where you are going the first one says faith is a substance it means that it's substance something we are standing on you must stand on something and the bible calls that faith that something is the word of god that something is jesus christ substance and by faith we understand you can only understand as you go you can only understand as you move if you want to wait for all the stars to line up or the traffic light to stop or the everything to be perfect before you move you will never move and so god challenges us in the person of abraham to leave our past and move into our future and in fact he paint he paints pictures to us all the time ebooks to us see ah greek jews he paints pictures to us all the time" [00:01:48]

"Abraham being called as one person and be told by a futuristic approach that you will be many nations. And that is how God has called your life. You are one person today, but there is something inside you that is called to the nations. There is some people inside you that God is calling out. Someone has to hear you and increase in faith. So everything about you is a seed. The words you say are seeds, whether good or bad. Because if it's good, it's going to amplify. If it's bad, it's going to affect people same. And therefore, there is no need to discourage yourself. There's no need to stay in your past. Because that is what it is. If you are not careful, you will think that there is no tomorrow for you. And that is staying in your past. God wants you to move on. God wants you to build up. I was reading a story about this gentleman called Jimmy Donaldson, who is a YouTuber." [00:03:37]

"did another video and said this video will be released in one year time but one year time i should have had this that and that in one year time he did the same thing for five years and ten years now in six months time the video popped up lo and behold the gentleman had had over 5000 000 subscribers in in one year time he had had over 10 000 subscribers because people were looking forward to what he said and how it's going to play out in five years time he had over five million viewers guess what in 2023 postcard it 10 years time his views surpassed 80 million this is an unbeliever now if you look at the the status of this jimmy guy mr beast youtube the companies are paying him over 100 million dollars a year just by an act of faith projecting his future now as we'll be going through the life of abraham you would realize that god called him from an obscure he was already rich when he was called in air of the caldins but god always wants to take you out from your past where you are" [00:05:25]

"and project it into a future. A future that is connected to other people. You see, if whatever God gives you is all for yourself, in the four corners of your room, then that may not be from God. That is your self -ambition. God always wants to stretch you out. Take you out and ask you to look into the skies and see if you can number them. God always wants you to count stars because the plans he has for you goes beyond you. Goes beyond your generation. Goes beyond the area you are looking for or where you are situated. Amen? This morning, I want to challenge you to look into yourself and ask yourself, what have you called me for? Where have you called me to go? Because he always wants you to leave Egypt. You can't always stay in Egypt and fulfill the promise of God. You have to leave Egypt. You have to cross the Red Sea and put the past behind you and move forward." [00:07:13]

"so, you may have to ask yourself this question, who have I been this time? Am I the same in 2024? What will I be in 2025? What is life going to be for me like in 2027? Jimmy John Lawson in his fifth year said, it would be ridiculous if I'm dead in five years. In the video he says, it would be ridiculous if I'm dead in five years. This is an unbeliever. projecting himself to be a better person to be a better influence and god wants us to do the same abraham's faith journey was a call to live if you read um genesis chapter 11 to genesis chapter 22 it's a long account of him he's called to live god promises him to be a great nation um in chapter 12 abraham leaves haran with sarah lot and and his possession trusting god to take him to canaan a famine comes challenges come his way but he relies on god struggles through with fear and and and deceives hero about sarah these are long long stories and i would encourage you to go out there and read so i'll be picking and choosing from from these he departs um apart company with his nephew lot in genesis chapter 13 now abraham shows courage and um by faith releases his family from um from a raid or captivity by the trained man in his household you see abraham at that time had 318 soldiers trained born in his household what a man a man who completely trusted god for his protection verse 14 talks about abraham's acknowledgement of god being the source of his victory and that's where the bible talks about melchizedek he meets melchizedek and offered bread and and wine you go through and" [00:08:29]

"sometimes faith journey makes us impatient when god had promised him that i will give you a son he thought he's a son of his own choosing so he goes in with hagar and gives birth to ishmael and we know the consequences of such actions ishmael has a descendant of the islamic community those people call themselves muslims and all that are descendants from ishmael and if you understand the the structure very well they've been fighting all their life they've been in trouble with everyone literally through an act of disobedience from the top you see if we don't follow and obey god there are consequences if we try to do it our own way there will be consequences now i'm talking about the fate of abraham as it relates to you" [00:10:54]

"now he eventually gets the promise of a son by name isaac but then another test comes that give me that isaac one thing that interests me is that abraham knew that god was not going to kill isaac the reason being that god had told him that i will make nations out of you so that meant that the man thought to himself that god is not going to kill isaac because isaac is the one who is going to bring for further children according to the promise of god and even if he did even if he killed isaac scripture is clear to prove to us that he knew that god was going to raise him from the dead and that is a that is faith can you trust god to say to yourself say to the circumstance that this situation looks so dire this situation looks so impossible but i know you can god i know you can rather than speaking to yourself negatively and say oh this is the end of me oh man god you give up on yourself you give up on the situation you start saying negative things to you bible said abraham knew that if god kills this child he's going to come back to life now the thing that interests me is the fact that abraham's faith affected his values you his faith affected his values and the way he dealt and did things let's read hebrews chapter 11 verse 8 the bible says by faith abraham obeyed when he was called to go into a place which afterwards he was going to receive as an inheritance and he went not knowing where he went he was willing to leave his homeland his family showed his commitment to god's direction and come over his own personal comfort faith made obedience a core value in abraham's life his obedience" [00:12:06]

"a value in your life how do you obey god because god wants you to live say by faith abraham obeyed when asked to live god doesn't want you in the situation in which you are he wants you to live it may be your philosophy it may be your belief system it may be self -doubt it may be fear of the past god wants you to live and move on trust in god's promise god has a promise for your life bible says abraham valued reliance on god's promises rather than in his own imminent circumstances you see i keep saying to people when i was a child even the milk gave me the milk given to us was measured in table um spoon they measured our milk in spoons and you'd be lucky if the spoon got full you just measure it some way somehow and if you're not careful you think that that is going to be your future but here we are in in a country where we drink any amount of milk we want i i wanted to have a do you want to live like this no you don't want to live like this with того there's logic think aviation though lo you don't participate Buddha you can you drink music music" [00:14:30]

"dissociate your past and your future if situations are not very good now don't think that is what it will be in the future you must say to yourself that my future is brighter my future is better and in fact have pictures of your future in mind and that is what abraham was put through he sat in the four corners of his room and thought that oh how am i going to have a child how will i be a father of many nations how will this be i know others will be talking about sarah and all that but there is always a how there's always a question there is always a when and the answer is that god wants you to leave yourself first god wants you to leave yourself first god wants you to leave egypt where you bound yourself where you are in slavery where you think that there is no hope god wants you to leave that and you live that through the person of jesus christ he's able to transport you from darkness and bring you into light god doesn't always god doesn't want you to be where you are he wants you to be planted like a seed bible says in john chapter 12 verse 24 it says unless a seed falls in the ground it remains the same but that seed of you must fall you must rot in the ground and a new strength will come out of you and one seed of corn now turns into hundreds of seeds and that hundreds of seeds get sent around some are eating some are replanted and that one seed now turns into" [00:16:11]

"multiple corns and that multiple corns tends to millions of corns and that one seed can feed a nation that is how god has made you and so don't belittle yourself and look into yourself and think that there is no hope even if he is dead god is able to raise him from the dead but you are not dead you are alive and don't disregard what god can do in your life he's able to turn your life around if you trust him in his promises romans chapter 4 verse 20 to 21 abraham says he did not stagger at the promises of god through unbelief but was strong in faith giving glory to god and being fully persuaded that what god has promised he is able to perform are you persuaded in yourself god has called you here maybe to be a nurse to be an engineer to be an architect to be someone somebody the situation may not be looking right right now but don't stagger at the promises of god don't think that god is not able to do what he has called you to do he is able now faith of abraham made him commit to worship and dependence of on god his faith inspired him to be a worshiper" [00:18:12]

"you see the thing is the thing that transform us is what we worship be careful the thing you give your time to if you give your yourself all you talk about is money that is what you are worshiping all you talk about is food that is what you are worshiping but i pray that you will start talking about god you would make time for him it doesn't mean you don't go out to do work or business or to to to workload or to to follow your heart desires but if it is all you think about then that becomes your worship now genesis chapter 12 verse 7 says and jehovah appeared to abraham and said to him i'll give you this land to your seed and he built an altar there and worshipped jehovah who appeared to him but he says that and he moved from there to a mountain into the east of bethel he pitches tents between bethel towards the sea and high towards the east and he built an altar there to jehovah and called upon the name of jehovah if we read the account of from genesis 12 to 22 he's always building an altar he's always building a place to worship he's always bowing see the thing is that is what he was called from called from an idol worshiping a lifestyle into a god -worshiping lifestyle whatever god is calling us from all he's asking is to bring jesus at the center so if you used to dress in suits and all that for the world he's calling you to do the same into the kingdom" [00:20:00]
