#MountMoriahConnection
“``The same place where God provided a ram in place of Isaac on Mount Moriah is the same place that Solomon built his temple. It was destroyed. Right? And then later on, about seventy years, that temple was rebuilt. Right? And guess what? It was destroyed again. Right? And we call that place today the Temple Mount. And the Temple Mount is, guess what, on Mount Moriah. Right? And we would say that on Mount Moriah, where was Jesus sacrificed? He was sacrificed on Golgotha. Well, Mount Moriah, the Golgotha, you have to still go to a little higher point. And so the same place that God provided a sacrifice of a ram in in the instead of Isaac is the same place where Jesus became the sacrificial lamb for all people.”

“And so in closing, can I tell you something that is pretty cool about the story? And some of you already know it. Right? You you've already caught on. You're a bible scholar. You you get this. But if you if you don't know it or maybe you've forgotten, you don't wanna miss this. K? This is really cool. The the you probably recognize a few similarities in the story. K? Three day journey, sacrifice of a son, one and only son whom he loved, a thicket of thorns. Right? We see a little foreshadowing in the story of Jesus' ultimate sacrifice for us. Now the journey takes three days to get to the mountain. Jesus rose on the third day. Abraham is instructed to sacrifice his son, his one and only son. God gave us Jesus.”

#AskGodWhy
“And so what do we do with a story like this? And I and I can completely understand if you guys are still in the questioning phase of why God, because I was there a lot this week in preparation for this. God, there's gotta be a better way. Why why so dramatic of a story? And it's the stories like these that I'm reminded that when we ask god why, it doesn't have to turn us away from god. It can actually draw us closer to god. And here's what I know. God wasn't gonna allow Abraham to harm Isaac. Maybe that was the norm of the societies around Abraham, but that was not the nature of Yahweh. God doesn't stand for the sacrifice of the innocent. God had a better plan.”

#LordWillProvide
“When we learn from Abraham's life, we know that it's not easy, but Abraham became a man who trusted in god. How cool would it would be if if our legacies in this life were less about our accomplishments and more about being people who follow Jesus and trust in God. Amen? Thus, we continue to say today, the Lord will provide. On that mountain, the Lord provided for Abraham, which ushered in a covenant to introduce the world to God. And on that same mountain, God provided redemption for his people through the blood and sacrifice of Jesus.”
