1. "Abiding is a total. Total dependence on God as the Lord of your lives and trusting in Him to bring about His fruit in His way and at His time. That song that we've been singing lately in church, Teach Me to Abide, I think whoever wrote that song got it right where they repeat that one line over and over and over again. I depend on you. Teach me to abide. I think they got it right there." [09:56] (30 seconds) (Download raw clip | Download cropped clip)

2. "The honest truth about dependence or abiding is that we are always abiding and depending on something. The question is for you today, what are you abiding in or depending on aside from Christ? What are some of the things we turn to when times get tough? Well, hey, you know what? Money's starting to run out. I'm starting to worry. And while that is a practical need, are we depending in money and finances first and foremost to get us through a sticky time in life?" 3. "God is in your suffering. Now, I'm not going to put a blanket statement out there and say, all suffering that you deal with in life is God's pruning, but I am going to say that God is in and over the suffering that you experience. And whether it's his intentional pruning or not, I do believe from the scriptures that God, God can do anything he wants with our suffering to bring about some sort of good. And that's why he's talking about, in this passage today, those that he prunes, he's pruning to bring more fruit." [18:34] (29 seconds) (Download raw clip | Download cropped clip)

4. "God is still good in spite of your pain. And God is still in control. God can use it for anything. We think about the next one there, love. Is it possible that God is actually loving you in spite of the things that you're facing in life right now? Does God love you? Or is he just this angry God that's just punishing us with things in life? The Bible teaches us that he's a God of love. The Bible teaches us that he loves you dearly." 5. "He wants to use the things that you suffer with and the things that are causing you pain right now. He wants to take those things and make you more than conquerors over it. He wants to use those things in your life to make you stronger and better and to fit his plan for you. That's a loving God. But we also see the third circle that encompasses everything about in our theology of suffering. The grace of God. God's grace is encompassing your life right now." 6. "God is there and he's working all things together for good, for his good and if it's his good, then it's our good. It might be painful sometimes along the journey. It might be uncomfortable. It might not be what we had ever dreamed but man, God's got a plan for it and if he's got a plan for it, man, it's gonna be so good. You just maybe haven't felt it yet or seen it yet. He calls us to depend on him and in seasons of pruning, trust him. Trust him and lean into the abiding even more." [26:14] (30 seconds) (Download raw clip | Download cropped clip)

7. "When you start depending on God, you better believe there's gonna be a little target on your back. Satan doesn't want you growing in the Lord then also, the Lord sometimes is gonna use some pruning to try and bring something great and fruitful out of a certain area of your life that you thought you needed but man, trust him. Great things are coming when we abide in Christ. So, we need to understand it. We need to get it in our head. Guys, secondly, let's move on today. We also need to get it in our hearts." 8. "As God the Father, who is perfect and has perfect love, loves God the Son, who is perfect and has perfect love, so as perfect God with perfect love perfectly loves the perfect Son, he says, I love you like that. That's God's love for each and every one of you today. That perfect love. God says, I love you like that. Now abide in it. Abide in it. Feel it. Live from it. Let it be your power. Let it be your motivation. The thing that quenches your thirst on a daily basis." [33:07] (47 seconds) (Download raw clip | Download cropped clip)

9. "When we receive the love of God, when we love him back, and when we love others, because we're being loved by him, we love him back. And because we love him, we obey his commandments to go and love others. And when we love others, 1 John 4.12 from the top of the screens there says that when we love others, we experience his love even better. The cycle continues. Constant flow of love. And we are doing what God has commanded us to do." [36:24] (24 seconds) (Download raw clip | Download cropped clip)

10. "When we abide, God grows these things in our lives. And then we can share them with others. One last practical help I have for you guys up on the screens today. A really great and practical place just for you to get started with abiding. Simply just having your God time. Have your God time. Seek him. Learn to grow in him. Depend on him. Take a picture of this if you want real quick and then just have it with you. Buy yourself a journal. Start journaling your God time." [44:48] (30 seconds) (Download raw clip | Download cropped clip)
