Abiding in Christ: Finding Peace Through the Holy Spirit
Summary
In today's message, we explored the profound role of the Holy Spirit in our lives, especially in a world that feels increasingly disrupted and uncertain. As we navigate these turbulent times, the call to "abide" becomes more crucial than ever. Abiding in Christ provides a constant amidst the chaos, offering peace and stability. Jesus, who is the same yesterday, today, and forever, invites us to build our lives on the unchanging rock of His presence. In John 14, Jesus reassures us not to let our hearts be troubled, emphasizing that peace is possible even in a troubled world.
The Holy Spirit plays a vital role in this journey. He draws us to God, connects us with Him, and helps us live out our faith. The Spirit distinguishes right from wrong, guiding us towards truth and drawing us closer to Jesus. Believing in Jesus is essential, but receiving Him into our lives is what transforms us into children of God. This transformation is akin to being grafted into the vine, where the life of Christ flows into us, enabling us to bear fruit.
The Holy Spirit also establishes and maintains our connection with God, ensuring we remain grounded in our faith. He teaches us all things, reminding us of Jesus' words and guiding us in our daily lives. This connection is not passive; it requires us to be still, to abide, and to draw from the life-giving sap of the Spirit. As we do so, we bear fruit that the world desperately needs—love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.
Ultimately, Jesus' sole interest is us. He desires for us to abide in Him, to be grafted into His life, and to bear fruit that reflects His love to the world. As we embrace this calling, we find fulfillment and purpose, doing the good works He has prepared for us.

Quotes
I present to you today that the way to stay strong and calm and at peace is to abide you know God's not going to change. Jesus said I'm the same yesterday today and forever in in a changing world it's good to be have something constant God can't change to build your life upon the rock. [00:00:54]
In John chapter 14 the first verse Jesus says to them don't let your hearts be troubled do not let your heart be troubled would you put your hand over your heart this morning and say with me heart don't be troubled one more time heart don't be troubled. [00:02:00]
Jesus really cares about you my friend he says I want to bring you hope he says don't let your heart be troubled don't let your heart be afraid I have a helper that I'm going to send to you who is the Holy Spirit and that Holy Spirit is going to help you in troubled times. [00:05:27]
The Holy Spirit draws us to God how the Holy Spirit connects us establishes us with God and then thirdly how the Holy Spirit helps us so we'll try to simplify although I have to warn you in the service last night in the 9:00 service I didn't get anywhere near through my notes. [00:07:20]
One of the things the Holy Spirit does is he makes a distinction between what is right and what is wrong and in that process we start searching for God we start searching for answers we start searching for what is right and we find ourselves drawn to Jesus he draws us to him. [00:08:26]
It's one thing to believe in Jesus it's another thing to receive Jesus John says in John chap 11:12 as many as believed and received so if you want to make a simple formula believe plus receive equals child of God just believing alone is not enough you have to receive. [00:09:00]
You cannot graft a branch into a Vine unless you wound the vine so this Vine has been wounded this Branch had to be cut off from somewhere else it existed somewhere else Paul says in Romans 11 you were like a wild Olive Branch been grafted into Christ and now the sap The Life of Christ flows into you. [00:13:30]
The branch is dependent upon the vine but the vine is dependent upon the branch to bear fruit so we're interdependent we're we're we're connected together we are in Christ we are you could say we are immersed in Christ we are immersed this branch is immersed into here or the Bible says we are baptized into into Christ. [00:16:00]
The Holy Spirit keeps our connection with God all the time he keeps that connected he keeps it established we read in John 14: 16 we read and I will pray the father and he will give you another helper that you may abide with me forever see the holy spirit is this What's called the paracle. [00:21:21]
He will teach you all things now not just not all things regarding Faith or regarding the Bible all things so whatever you're going through today I want you to know God really cares about you and he say well I I I'm really working through a relationship I don't know what to do he'll teach you all things. [00:22:55]
Be still and know that I am God I think that's really where we posture ourselves when we're still be still and know a lot of times it's just work to be still isn't it I don't know about you but in my world it's very easy to pick up my phone and just keep my mind spinning and going and going going. [00:24:20]
Our world today my friend needs fruit like never before you know what's inside fruit don't you seeds and so God packages the seed in Fruit so it makes it very easy to get the seed inside somebody if you just give them raw seed they might go oh that's a little harsh but when you package God's love his word in fruit people receive it.
