23s
“``Who is him? Christ. Jesus. Jesus the Christ. And so the idea of abiding in Christ is not striving for perfection. It's not putting on a show or a performance. It's just remaining in Jesus. Not leaving Jesus. Not bailing out when it gets hard or letting culture drift you away, but just sticking with the biblical Jesus. That's abiding.”
29s
“He will appear. He will be manifested and the world will see him as he really is. It's it's the blessed hope of the church. It's known as his second advent, the appearing of Christ. The apostles taught it, almost every epistle in the new testament teaches the return of Christ. The early church fathers taught it. The Orthodox church believes it. The Catholic church believes it. Almost all protestant churches believe it. It's the clear teaching throughout the ages that there's two advents of Christ, two unveilings.”
24s
“going to the lowest of the slums in the world and pulling children out and saying, you're now gonna live in my home. They're not deserving, they have nothing to offer and that is you and I. When I think about the dumpster diving of my life and the shame and the sin and the depths and how far I live from God and that today I could say I'm a child of God, what love has been bestowed upon us? Wow. What grace.”
28s
“And it's not just given to us, it's bestowed upon us. In the NIV translation, it says it's been lavished upon us. And so, God has given us the most amazing gift of love in Christ. What what kind of love is it beyond us to even fully comprehend? And it's not just that he gave us amazing love, he did, but also he lavished it upon us. He didn't just give us a teaspoon of that love, he poured it out like a torrential waterfall on the family of God.”
