#PeaceInTheStorm
“``Why do you think he was in the bottom of the boat resting? It's because peace isn't determined by what is happening around you. Peace is determined by who is in you, who is with you. See, Jesus was in the boat with them. The disciples had no reason to fear and be terrified because Jesus was in the boat with them. The same with us. If you're a believer Jesus is inside of you, so you have no reason to fear and worry about the situations that are going on. You should remain in that peace that Jesus is with you. Because if Jesus can sleep in the middle of the storm, I believe he was trying to teach them that they should be resting too.”

#ReleaseToMultiply
“When they put it in the hands of Jesus and it was blessed, they didn't have just enough to get by. They had more than enough to where there were 12 basketful over. Amen? They when they stopped focusing on what they didn't have and started focusing on what they have and releasing it to God, that's when the miracle happens. So what are you holding on to this morning? That God's saying, hey, turn it over, release it to me, and watch me bless it, and multiply it, and overflow what you have. See, because abiding, it stops focusing on what you don't have and it begins surrendering what you do. That miracle doesn't happen because of the size of the offering. The miracle didn't happen because it was such a small offering. Right? The miracle happened because of the greatness of the one who blesses it. So your miracle is right there on the verge when you release what you have to God and allow him to bless it. Allow the great one to bless it. Amen?”

#PrayBeforePressure
“I want you to notice something here. Jesus what Jesus did. See, before the pressure came, he prayed. Before betrayal came, he surrendered. And before the cross came, he abided with the father. That's what he was doing. Right? But what did the disciples do? They slept through the preparation and they struggled through the battle. See Jesus is walking and he was praying and he was surrendering because he knew what was going to happen. And he was wanting those three men to just be with him and pray with him, but yet they were falling asleep.”

#StandOnTheWord
“So what is that word that God has given you? The word God gave me might not be the word that God gave you, Josie, but what word did God give you? Stand on that word. Stand on that promise and continue to follow that narrow path on the word that God has given you. Because that's what abiding is. It's maintaining your focus when everything around you seems to be grabbing your attention.”

#SeekFirstAlways
“However, there are days when we face problems before we seek his presence. We see everything going on around us, all the problems that we're going through and we focus on that and we refuse to seek his presence instead of having it the other way, instead of seeking his presence and not letting those things around us distract us. We try to fight battles before we pray. We try to fight battles before we sit at his feet. Instead of, you know, reacting first, we have to remain first. And instead of striving first, we have to seek first. And instead of speaking first, you have to listen. That's what true abiding is.”

#AbideInPrivate
“See, we neglect abiding in private, then you're going to struggle in public. Right? If you can't spend the time when you're alone in the word being at Jesus' feet, when you're in public and something tries to come against you, you're going to struggle. When the battle comes, you're going to struggle. That's why it's so important to spend that time at his feet, spend the time in his word, to pray without ceasing so that you're prepared and you're ready for when things come your way.”

#GiftsFlowFromChrist
“But the gifts aren't earned. They're given. It's a free gift given to us. And they're not manufactured, but they're distributed by the holy spirit. They don't originate within us, but they flow through us. Just as a branch doesn't produce fruit apart from the vine, the believer cannot operate effectively apart from abiding in Christ. Right? You know, sometimes people spend their lives, you know, chasing gifts and they neglect the giver. They're chasing all this stuff, but they're neglecting the giver, the one who gave this to us.”

#MinistryFromIntimacy
“And Jesus, he didn't condemn Martha's heart. What he did is he corrected her priorities. He kind of set it in order because what she what he was trying to get her to understand was that ministry should always follow, should always come from intimacy. It should always flow from intimacy. Ministry should always flow from intimacy. And then the activity will always flow from abiding. And that's exactly what Mary was doing. Mary was sitting at Jesus' feet, resting, taking it all in. And what Jesus was trying to get Martha to understand and getting her on back on the right path was telling her that, hey, the ministry flows from a place of intimacy and then the act activity from abiding.”
