#YouReapWhatYouSow
“``Verse seven says, you can't mock God's justice. I find a lot of Christian leaders and a lot of Christians think there's no justice to God. They believe they can live however they want. Right? Pastors using people living selfish lives. People in churches, they sing praise on Sunday, and the rest of the week, they live for themselves. But the Bible teaches we always harvest what we plant. So last week, right, we talked about this tug of war. The Holy Spirit's on one side. We literally had a tug of war here. On the other side is our sinful desires. Paul's going back to this concept. And here's here's what he's saying. He's saying those who live to please their sinful lives harvest death. Those who live to please the spirit of God harvest eternal life.”

#FaithThatProducesLove
“It can sound like if you take one verse out of context that Paul's saying we're saved by our love. That isn't what he's saying. The whole book is how we're saved by our faith in the person of Jesus, not by following a bunch of rules. But a person who places their faith in Jesus, what happens? Well, part of placing your faith in Jesus is you repent. You turn from your sins. And and what God starts to create in you is a desire to do the things that please God. Can a person be saved who isn't living to please the spirit of God? Paul, I believe here is saying no. Why? Because the fruit of faith in Jesus creates love. A love that allows us to live for God.”

#DoGoodToEveryone
“And I was struck by Paul's words when I was there because I read the New Testament when was there. Do good to everyone. You know when it's hard to do good to everyone? When people mistreat you simply because you're Arab and they're Jewish. How do you speak kindly to people when they're they're really not very kind to you? How do you treat people with respect who are treating you with anything but respect? When I show up at the checkpoint and literally the the soldier has his gun pointed at me, how do you let the love of God fill your heart so you treat them with dignity? And you realize they're in a hard spot. They're this 18 year old guy or girl who's just doing their job, and how do I do something to do good for them? Because we're called to do good for everyone, not just the people who are nice to us.”

#ForgivenAndTransformed
“I've had quite a few people ask me, how can someone who murders go to heaven? If they place their faith in Jesus, can they go to heaven? The answer is absolutely. And people have a tough time understanding why do murderers get to go to heaven? Well, someone who murders and places their faith in Jesus, what happens? God forgives them of that murder. They're no longer a murderer in God's eyes. But additionally, that murderer now receives the Holy Spirit who loves who allows them to love people deeply and sacrificially. You know, if a murderer continues to murder and they don't have love in their hearts for their fellow man, they aren't saved. Why? Because the fruit of the faith that God does in our life always produces love. Is that a struggle at times that we fall short? Absolutely.”

#MakeTimeForCommunity
“And what I realize it means is it means some of us have to adjust our schedule because you don't have the capacity or the time to really serve and care for people. And so does it mean maybe you have to change your work schedule and say, you know what? Or I maybe need to look for a different job or or maybe I need to cancel some of the after school activities my kids are in that they love so much. You know, as a family, we've had to think through those decisions and make hard choices. There are only so many hours in a day. If your time is being used up and you have no time for other Christians, something has to change. Why? Because because we're called to this. This is an expectation god has on your life. This is the way you be fruitful for the lord.”

#LoveIsTheCommand
“Now, of course, there's forgiveness in that, but but it's something you better take seriously in other words. When Jesus gave us this command, it's not like, if you really wanna get extra credit, try to shoot for this. This is like, if you're my follower, this is what you're gonna be known for. You all are gonna figure out how to love each other, even the ones that are hard for you to love.”

#LoveWorthTheCross
“And when you think about Jesus' love for you, if if you've ever experienced that love, how much does Jesus love you? I believe Jesus would say, I love you this much. Right? And it's all the more fitting for Jesus to be like this because what does it remind us of? He hung on a cross for people like you and I because he wanted to buy our freedom. And so when you think about Jesus' love for us, it's it's intense. It's passionate, and it was costly.”

#TurnToGodForLove
“But if there's no love in our hearts but that's what Paul's saying. You reap what you sow. God loved us. Right? So the faith we have in in a loving God now starts to produce what in our life? Love. So if we're struggling to produce love, what we need is to turn deeply to the love of God. Sometimes we need to fall on our face and say, I don't have this god, but I need more of it.”
