“You see, Tabitha being raised from the dead wasn't about Tabitha. Peter doing it wasn't really about Peter. It was all putting the power of Jesus on display. This was all pointing to Jesus. See, Tabitha's suffering was the platform for God's power, and we have to ask ourselves, the way that I suffer in this life, am I willing to let it be a platform for the power of God in the world around me? And I'm not here to say that your suffering doesn't hurt. It does hurt. It is painful.”

“This is the great sending. This is the great assignment. This is the great command of Christ to all believers everywhere of all time. This is the great commission, what we just read. This is the mission of every church. This is the mission for every single believer. Not just pastors and priests and clergy, not just for church staff, people who work at church. Right? Not just for your amazing small group leader. Like, this is for every single person who believes and calls on the name of Jesus Christ and follows him. Every one of them. And and and here's really what Jesus is saying. Every believer can live every moment on mission.”

“The truth is about great love and great suffering is those are really our only two options for being transformed in this life. Great love has a way of just when we experience great love from another person and from God, it opens us up to being changed. And when we experience great suffering, the failures in this life, it has a way of breaking us open, and then we're open for God. And I love this quote from Leonard Cohen when he says that there's a crack in everything. That's how the light gets in.”

“By the way, if you were making up the scripture, you would never include this in the bible that Jesus did this. Because if you really read it objectively, it seems very passionate for him to slow down and talk to somebody, heal somebody when this other situation urgently needs him. But you see, Jesus Jesus' lack of urgency was giving time for the little girl to die because he was saying, I'm not gonna show you that I can heal the sick. I'm gonna show you that I can raise the dead.”

“And when you go to a Motel six, you gotta remember something. You're at a Motel six. You can't expect it to be a five star hotel. Because when you walk into the motel six, if you call the front desk and say, man, there's water stains on the wall and blood stains on the carpet, they're gonna go, yeah, you're at a motel six. And if you call the front desk at the motel six and say, hey, I'd like to order room service, they're gonna be like, yeah, get a Hot Pocket out of the vending machine, brother.”

“Disciple as you go to your next meeting, or you go online to do whatever. Right? Go as you or disciple as you go. As you go to church. Alright? Or as as you go to hang out with friends or family. Disciple as you go on vacation, or even on a mission trip, or even as you go to bed and you tuck your kids in at night. Like, tell them about Jesus. Right? Disciple even then. This is super significant because Jesus is telling us this, that every believer can live every moment on mission. Can we say it together? Every believer can live every moment on mission.”

“When Jesus says, go, he's not saying go to a different country. He's not saying that. He's not saying go to a different part of town. He's not saying that. When Jesus says go, he's not actually saying to go anywhere. The Greek word is, and it's really important to roll the tongue there. Right? And what that word means is as you go or as having gone. It means living normal everyday life. Like what are the things you normally do in your day? That's what Jesus is talking about. As you go. Disciple as you go to the coffee shop, or as you go to work, or as you go to school.”
39s
“Listen, you know you know Jesus Christ died on the cross for your sins. You know that. That's not the problem. You know that three days later, he rose from the grave on the very first Easter Sunday. You get it. You've heard it for a long time. You believe it. But you've never trusted. Listen, you know it up here, but you you've never trusted in him from from this heart territory. You never trusted Jesus to save you. You never trusted in what he did for you to make you new, but today is the day. Today is the day that you receive Jesus and truly follow him for the first time.”

#TithingIsObedience
“Tithing is not generous. It's obedient. Generosity doesn't start until after we've tithed. The tithe doesn't belong to you. Leviticus chapter 27 verse 30 says the tithe belongs to the Lord. So the famous verse in Malachi chapter 3 where God is telling the Jews that they were robbing him. Why were they robbing him? They were robbing him because they were taking, they weren't paying the tithe. They were spending the tithe. That's why he says that they were robbing God. So we could say it this way, we pay our tithe, we give our offerings.”

#FearBlocksGenerosity
“What I have found through the years is that fear is the number one barrier to generosity. But God doesn't call us to give so that we go without. He calls us to give so we grow in trust. And if we trust, he promises to grow our resources, which then grows our generosity.”
