#GraceInterrupts
“It's a grace that knocks you on your backside, has you wondering what just happened. It's when that thing that you were putting first in your life that you were chasing crumbles because it was never meant to be the source of your hope. It's when the life you were building away from God stops working, and that too is grace. Because anything that stops us in our tracks from going to a place far from God and his plan and his will for us, anything that puts a stop to our destruction on the path of self is grace. Man, today I'm thankful, and I bet some of you are thankful for the stories you were writing that God interrupted with his grace.”

“``you know, I read this morning that affordable housing is one of the biggest crunches in Charlotte, which you all all know. And I also read that the average home price is $444,000 in Charlotte. What was that again? $444,000 is the average home price in Charlotte. And so Habitat is is really working to help those that can't afford a home. Well and the average and this might be a 2025 number. As I mentioned, the average Habitat cost, house cost is $2.25. The average mortgage is $1.85. And so there's a $40,000 spread. Well, that spread is where you and I come in in terms of making our donations to Habitat. The homeowners invest their sweat equity. cost the difference between the mortgage and the cost is what our donations, go to help, offset.”

“And notice how ordinary these excuses are. These are normal everyday life's activities. These guys, it's not. They're doing something evil that's keeping them from going. It's not busy doing wicked deeds. They're not out stealing. They're not out harming people. The issue is not scandalous wickedness. The issue is here that keep people from entering into the banquet. The issue is good, normal things that have become distractions to entering the kingdom. The issue is misplaced priorities. It's that something else has captured their heart. Something else became more important than the invitation. The kingdom's invitation interrupted their plans, and they chose their plans over the king's invitation. So they had imagine this, they have good things in their lives, but these good things become ultimate things and now they're missing the banquet.”

#GodCameDown
“But real hope for your future, church family, real life change is not waiting on you to make your way to God. In fact, that's what every other religion out there says. Here's a list of rules. Here's how you achieve. Here's how you become the right kind of person. Do these things, and then God will accept you. Only Christianity doesn't say here's the way up the mountain. Only Christianity says, let me introduce you to the God who came down the mountain to meet you where you were. In grace, God comes to us.”

#HeComesForEnemies
“And the guy, I want you to know, the guy who met Saul on that road that day says no. He specializes in the people everyone else gives up on. He comes for enemies. He calls them chosen. He's not asking you to clean yourself up and come find him. He's telling you, I've already come down the road looking for you. All that's left is to stop running.”

#GetYourFeetWet
“We don't wait for lunch to come to see who we can minister to. You don't wait until the work's already done to jump in, or when you're sure they're gonna say yes or when it's perfectly comfortable. You step in first. You join that ministry team. You serve in nursery or kids. You serve in in the a v booth. You serve in hospitality. You serve on the worship team. You'd make that invitation to that friend or that loved one who you know needs to draw closer to Jesus, who you know should be here on launch Sunday. And you trust God to do what only he can do with it. You just do your part. It's not your job to part the water. It's just your job to get your feet wet.”

#TrustAndStep
“These priests, they didn't wait until they could see the water move before they got in. It never would have moved. They went into the flooded river. And this is what this week will ask of you. This is what your life of following Jesus will ask of you. To sometimes move forward in obedience when you don't see the path yet. But you're trusting the one who can move the water.”

#FaithBeforeClarity
“And God gives Israel here the privilege to be part of the story. God wants to do God things, but he wants you to be a part of it. So what's my part? Obedience. Faith. Faith has to proceed clarity. Obedience has to proceed breakthrough. And church, this is the week we're in. There are moments when God says, I'll show you my faithfulness, but I'm asking you to trust me. Let me just ask you, have you trusted God with what he's called you to do in your life?”

#CarryTheCure
“He doesn't have a cute message. He's not just trying to, you know, get one friend to come to church one time. He's he is in a hostile world to his faith, and he believes he's carrying a bomb for good, not the destructive kind. Right? He he thinks he's carrying the in his hands, the single most powerful force on earth there is, which is the only thing that that has the power to rescue a human soul. He's this is not something to whisper about, is it? It's not something to if you were holding onto a cure for a fatal disease, being shy is not humility. Being shy when you have the cure for disease is a failure to love the dying.”

#GospelIsDynamite
“It's a detonation of the power of God aimed at the one thing human beings can't fix. The message about Jesus crucified and risen is the power of God released into the human life. To do what nothing else in the world can do, which is save a human soul. Take someone that's dead in sin and make them alive. Take someone enslaved and set them free. Take an enemy of God and bring them into the family of God, make them a son or a daughter. This is why Paul doesn't back down. He doesn't have some little belief.”
