#PaidInFull
“And we think about accounting terms. Right? If you think about your accounting terms, let's use these. Every time you sin, you take something out. Right? You take... You debit your account, it's coming out. Every time you do something good, you you put something in. Well, guess what? As you take stuff out, you can't put enough in to compensate for the stuff you take out. The only way to get there, the only way to get to that point where where your debt is fully paid is through faith in Christ alone. That's why Christ on the cross used another accounting term when he says, it is finished, tetelestai, paid in full.”

#FaithInTheStruggle
“And we may not understand and we wrestle with it. Does that mean that we don't have faith in God? The fact that we're talking to God about it just confirms that we have faith in him. We've had faith. We can take him like, I don't understand, God. You need to help me. I'm frustrated. I'm scared. I'm angry. Whatever it is, we take it to him, and we honestly seek him as an expression of our faith in him. And God reassures us over and over again.”

#TrustGod
“Belief is more than just understanding with our head. Belief is leaning into God with our life and saying, God, my life is yours. It may scare you. It may, like, what's he gonna ask me to do? What's he gonna ask me to give up? Well, right now, none of it. He's just asking you believe. Just believe. Just place your trust in him. And if he asks you to do something, you're gonna have the Holy Spirit to walk alongside you and give you the strength to do whatever he ask you to do. You're gonna have all these promises that he's made in this word will be yours.”

#SavedByFaith
“just be clear here, it's God who justifies. We are not justified by our own works, like Abraham was not justified by his own works. He was not perfect, right? He faltered. We saw a couple weeks ago where his faith was was a little bit weak, where he lied about Sarah being his wife. We're gonna see it again week. He does it again. I think it's next week. He lies again about who Sarah is. Right? And so we see Abraham, he's not perfect. He he makes mistakes. He doesn't sin... He doesn't live up to the standard of perfection, just like we can't live up to the standard of perfection. But it's through his faith that he's justified. And so we too can't earn our way to heaven. Righteousness will be credited to our account if we believe in him.”

#RighteousnessByFaith
“And the last word is, well, so what did he what did he credit to his account? Righteousness. Righteousness means the adherence to what is required to meet a standard. Right? So as if he did everything right, as if Abraham lived a perfect life, Abraham believed, and that belief was counted to him as righteousness. He met the standard of perfection through belief. Right? This this is the gospel in Genesis. What a what an amazing thing it is that that that God is is putting the gospel right here from the beginning. We see his plan to redeem mankind all the way back in Genesis. So God credited Abram with being in right standing because of his faith.”

#EternalLife
“Only God can keep that covenant. Only Jesus. Jesus is the one who fulfilled the covenant and keeps it as the guarantor. We can have confidence in God, that if you've placed your faith in God through Christ Jesus, you've entered that new covenant. You're a recipient, you're a beneficiary of that covenant. Covenant that God has bound himself to and that Jesus is the guarantor. The sinless son of God gave his life for you when he was... When he died for your sins, and he was raised to life on the third day. it's he that is gonna guarantee the outcome of that that covenant, the reward, the the gift of eternal life.”

#GodKeepsHisPromises
“Here, does Abraham walk through the middle of this? He does not. Abraham has no part in keeping this covenant. The only thing that goes through the middle of this part is smoking fire pot and a flaming torch. We often see God, and I think about the wilderness, a pillar of smoke and a pillar of fire. You see God is smoking fire. So God himself walks through this and makes the covenant, and he's the only covenant maker. Abram has no requirement in this covenant covenant. Only God does. God's gonna keep it. He says, I am making this covenant with you, Abram. I'm gonna be the security for this covenant. I'm gonna be the guarantier for this covenant.”

#CovenantSecurity
“You're not a party to the covenant. You're a beneficiary of the covenant. If you're not a party to it, that means you can do nothing to keep it. That means you can do nothing to break it. Just like Abraham could do nothing to keep it and could do nothing to break it. That's the promise we have. That's that's the security we have. This promise maker that we serve, this God that we serve, secures us from the moments of faith forever.”

#ChristOurIntercessor
“Once and for all, the sacrifice he made on the cross was sufficient to atone for all of our sins once and for all. And now he's at... He's in heaven making intercession for us. a beautiful picture of Christ that we see here. What a wonderful promise that we have, that we have someone that that that can make intercession for us, that that that was sinless, that died for us, that rose again, and is offering us the free gift of eternal life.”

#AbideInChrist
“Why isn't it social media gets put down? Why isn't it that TV show gets put down? Why are those things elevated above scripture? Every day in our world, Christians all around the world put this down and pick up Facebook. It's destroying their faith. Don't let it destroy your faith. Abide in Christ, the great king, priest, and prophet that we serve. If his promise isn't enough, nothing is. Don't hide in social media and entertainment. Abide in Christ.”
