“seventy three million babies are aborted in this world each year. Approximately six in ten unintended pregnancies end in abortion in this world. He knit us together in our mothers' wombs. He knew our unformed parts. He knew you before the creation of the world and created you in his image inherently worthy of honor, dignity, and respect. Seventy three million children do not ever get to breathe a breath because of this fallen world, because we believe the serpent when he says, did God really say? I hope I don't have to keep going. I don't wanna keep going. This is heartbreaking for me, and I hope that you can all agree that this world is sinful, that we humans are sinful, and sin is not just a list of do's and don'ts, y'all. Sin is not just a list of do's and don'ts. It is an inherited disease that we are born into, given to us by the first Adam. It's the air we breathe. And when we narrow sin into a list of do's and don'ts, we cheapen the grace of God into nothing more than a behavior modifier, and we call sin mistakes, bad habits, or struggles. Even the fact that we wanna shave the sharp edges off of those... Off of the word sin and call it struggles and bad habits and mistakes tells us that we're too prideful to just say, no. I'm a sinner. Right. Not a... I'm not... I don't have struggles. I'm not making mistakes. I don't have bad habits. I'm a sinner in need of saving grace. Before I... Or when we belittle sin and narrow it into a list of do's and don'ts, we belittle grace. We belittle the grace of God. We belittle what Jesus did for us.”

“God promised us that no weapon formed against us will prosper, but it's not licensed to just go pick a fight. He doesn't promise to deliver us from conflict. He does promise to deliver us through it. And so the question I have for you is, is there battle in front of you this morning? Is there a conflict in front of you that you don't see a way out? In the midst of that, what are you afraid of? God is still on his throne. And if we believe that, we truly believe that, we don't have to be afraid to do what he asks us to do because he will make a way through. Will you trust him and obey him? That's not where it starts. Temptation and by extension, sin that flows out of temptation starts with failing to believe God. It's failing to believe him, and Satan knows it. He knows that the heart of temptation and the heart of sin is when we refuse to believe what God has said. His plan was first to get Eve to doubt what God clearly said, to lead her to believe that God was holding out on her, didn't know what was best for her, and he started again with, did God actually say? This is where temptation and sin take root.”
