Types of churches in Muscle Shoals

Non-denominational

Modern music, practical teaching, and a relaxed, come-as-you-are atmosphere — popular with young adults and families who want a welcoming community without strong denominational ties.

Mainline & historic

Traditional worship with beautiful sanctuaries, choral music, and liturgical services — congregations that connect faith with history and a long-standing community presence.

Students & young adults

With the University of Colorado nearby, many churches emphasize student ministry — Bible studies, worship nights, and service opportunities built for people in their college and early-career years.

Family-friendly

Strong kids’ programs, youth groups, and safe, supportive environments — with Sunday school, childcare, and age-specific ministries throughout the city.

35s
“And the Lord says, kill it. Sitting in the backyard, a mosquito's flying around lands on you, you just sit there and go, oh yeah, have all the blood you want. Please bring more. Kill it. First thing you do, spider in your house. Right? Most of you are not like, oh this is great, there's a spider here man, I hope it's a black widow or brown recluse, and it it bites me later, like, the middle of the night. Hope it crawls in my bed and bite. No. You're trying to kill it.”
32s
“``Why can we live our lives doing that with mosquitoes? Why can we live our lives doing that with spiders? Why can we live our lives doing that with snakes? But yet, the enemy himself says, hey, I got this for you. I want to devour you with this, and we go, we'll just let it sit around for a little bit. I got a fun little box I'll put that in, I'll just hold on to it for little bit, it'll be fine. I only partake in that like once or twice a week, it's not a big deal. The Lord says, put it to death.”
27s
“I'll be honest with you. I think one of the reasons why we don't look for the way out because sometimes the way out is extreme. It's extreme. You've heard me say it before. An app making you struggle, delete the app. That's your way out. Just delete it. But that's extreme. Because then somebody's gonna walk up to you and be like, hey, do you have this app? You're gonna be like, no. Why don't you have that? I can't but everybody else in the world has that app. Why don't you have it?”
35s
“Oh, I don't, I mean, it it must have accidentally deleted. I'll I'll get it back. Instead of, no, no, no. I can't have that app on my phone because it causes me to struggle. That app is a temptation and I've gotta kill it and the way out is to not even step into it. See, the way out sometimes maybe embarrassing for us. The way it's out sometimes is gonna cause people to ask questions. See, I love that. I want you to ask questions. Why aren't you doing well, let me tell you why I'm not doing that.”
26s
“If you want to know what Jesus design for your life is, read Gods word. If you want to know the things that you should be doing and the things that you shouldnt be doing, read Gods word. If you want to know what his mission is for you day in and day out, read Gods word. It should dwell. It should inhabit. It should take up residence in our hearts.”

“The third and final command that He gives us in this passage of Scripture is that we should let the word of Christ dwell in us. Look at verse 16. It says, Let the word of Christ dwell richly among you in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another through psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts.”
85386s
“The second command that He gives us is that we are to let the peace of God rule in our hearts. If were going to live like Jesus, it requires that the peace of God rule in our hearts. You find this in verse 15. If you want to go back and follow along with me, Gods word says, and let the peace of Christ in which you are also called in one body rule your hearts and be thankful.”
19s
“The first command that He gives us is to put on godly characteristics. If were going to live like Christ, it requires putting on godly characteristics. If you were to go back up to the beginning of this chapter, what you would find is that theres a discussion on putting off and putting on.”
34s
“This morning, were going to look at Colossians chapter 3. Colossians chapter 3, starting in verse 12. Heres what Gods Word says. It says, As Gods chosen ones, holy and dearly beloved, put on compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience, bearing with one another and forgiving one another, if anyone has a grievance against you, just as the Lord has forgiven you, so you are also to forgive.”
22s
“You and I need to see people the way Jesus sees them. The second question that I would ask you to deal with is this. What is ruling your heart? Church, I got news for you. As you sit here this morning, as I stand here this morning, there is something ruling our hearts.”
