It's very unfulfilling and miserable to try to live that way because the two do not go together. to try to live with that and then to come to church on Sunday morning. That the guilt and the shame pile up. There seems there's no escaping from all of that. And as I said, true Christianity and sexual immorality will not mix. They are like water and oil.”

“It is against God's word, but that is not so much Paul's argument here that it is against God's word. But rather he is saying it is against God's created order, how he has created the world in which we live, that homosexuality goes against that. And Paul is wishing to trace not just how human beings have broken a law that has been given in their history, but he is saying, we have broken the laws that God has given in creation, the created order itself. And that is what he says there. As he says, these acts are contrary to nature.”

That the person that we are and have become is entrapped by one of these sins. And we realize that the line of evil runs not so much between us and them, but it runs right down the middle of each one of us. That is Paul's concern here.”

“You see, sex today is seen as cheap and artificial and selfish. It's always how much can I get away with how close can I get to the line? And that is the attitude of many in a hedonistic culture, certainly the one in which we live, that is controlled by a lustful heart. You know, Jesus made it clear that the problem of lust lies within the heart of each one of us. He said everyone who looks at a woman with lustful intent has already committed adultery with her in his heart.”
