#RootedInGod
“Heart of stone. I'll remove from you your heart of stone. God knows. God knows how you got that. He knows about how you were treated. He knows about what was said about you. He knows about how you were lied, cheated, kicked, some raped, some beaten. God knows. God knows what happened to you that made you have that heart of stone. He knows what happened to me that made me have that heart of stone. So he knows all this having a heart of stone isn't just because you said, I wanna have a heart of stone. I don't wanna care. Now some of you may have made that statement in the past. I don't wanna care because it hurts to care, doesn't it?”

#PeaceIsCompletion
“Come on. Come on. Talk to him. You know you know Charlie act funny when he drink, but ain't nobody gonna sing it because he just whoo. And I just stopped saying that ain't peace. No. No. No. That that's not peace. That's that's compromising. The Hebrew term for peace is not about compromise. It's about completion. That god gives you well-being. God gives you help. God gives you fullness, and I want that kind of peace. If I have to catch hell to get that kind of peace, I'm willing to do it rather than compromise.”

#KeepForgiving
“That doesn't mean you're a whipping post. That doesn't mean you can't have boundaries. That doesn't mean that wrong isn't wrong. Doesn't mean any of that. What it means is we're supposed to be kind and love one another and encourage one another and pray for one another and forgive one another. There's a whole bunch of one another. I love the one another's. I love reading them. Sometimes I don't like doing them. God didn't say enjoy everything I tell you. It's just not gonna happen. Following God is not easy. It's more easy to deny him and follow myself. The problem is the results. When I follow myself, it ends up with disaster, hurt lives, shame and guilt, all these things.”

#HolySpiritCompass
“But then there's some attacks from Satan that happen on this church, that happen with people I care about, that really, what are we gonna do now? How are we gonna get through this? And I'll tell you what, my best option is to grow those roots down and just say, Lord, I know you're with us. Lord, I know you have a plan. Lord, thank you for being with us. Thank you that I can trust you. Thank you that I can know that no matter what happens, bottom falls out of the stock market, Somebody else gets sick. Half the church decides to leave. Whatever happens, God is still with me. And he's still with you as well.”

#SeekAndSurrender
“``To be a man after god's own heart doesn't mean we have to be perfect. It means we have to seek him. It means we have to surrender to him and do our best to follow. And when we're wrong, admit it. I've been working on that with you guys for a while. We even practiced it, didn't we? You remember? I was wrong. Let's try it again. I was wrong. Look at there. Nobody died. I I want you to learn that that doesn't kill you to say that. It's okay to be wrong. It's just not okay to keep being wrong. And so being wrong is one of the places where God can draw us back to him when we admit it. I was wrong. Help me, Lord. Show me the way. Forgive me, Lord. Yes. Okay. It's done. Now sometimes it's just not me and the Lord. Sometimes I have to do it with other people as well.”

#SubmitToChange
“You know, that prosperity is a lot like the word submit. It doesn't mean exact I'm not preaching a prosperity gospel this morning. Submitting to him changes It changes the outcomes. It changes the attitudes. It changes the words. It changes the act. It changes everything. Submitting to God. What part of you what part of you do you need to submit to God? Your judgmental attitude, maybe your sexual behavior, maybe the idea that the church only wants my money. What where where in your list of things can you say, I really need to change this.”

#TruthHumbles
“If you get honest, that hurts. If you get honest, those scriptures humble you. Either that or sometimes when people bring you that kind of information, what's the response? Well, who do you think you are to talk to me like that? And you call yourself a Christian? Oh, wait. It's not pastor Richard. It's scripture. It's scripture. And it hits me right in the warehouse because I still struggle with some of these things. What causes fights and quarrels among you? Well, most of the time it's not getting what I want or getting something that I don't want. You know, it's something that makes me irritable, restless, and discontent. There's something going on that starts the quarrels. There's something that I'm not happy about. Or someone else is not happy about, and I jump into the quarrel with them. That's no fun. It actually breaks the peace that passes understanding.”

#SubmitAndBeChanged
“It is interesting that those of us that are here are at least on some level trying to submit to God. We got up. We got dressed. We knew what time church started. We did all those things to get here. We're trying to submit, but there's other areas. Maybe you're like me. Maybe your mouth gets you in trouble all the time. Maybe you live a life of blame that it's everybody else's fault instead of looking at the mirror and see what part of this life is your fault. Whatever your deal is, I want you to know that God's grace can change all that. Jesus gives the ability through his word and through the power of the holy spirit to be born again. So whatever area it is that we're struggling with, we if we get honest with it and and submit it to God, hand it to him and say, Lord, I need your help with this, his answer is yes. He wants to help us. He wants to clean us up. He wants to make us a better us. Wants to make me a better version of me that look more like Jesus and less like my flesh.”

#ForgiveToBeFree
“``Sometimes it even looks really weird like, God, I don't want to forgive them, but I need you to help me forgive them. Because if you want to be free from whatever it is that they've done to you, and it's probably not just an it, if you want to be free from those things, you have to be willing to say the honest truth. They hurt me. They disrespected me. They da da da da da. You you you could tell God the whole story. He can handle the story. What we can't handle is carrying around the unforgiveness.”

#CondemnationVsConviction
“``Condemnation and conviction are two different things. They're not the same thing. Condemnation tells me I'm no good. Condemnation says I've blown it too many times. Conviction says you can do better, my son. You can do better, my daughter. That's conviction from the Holy Spirit to motivate us to be more of the lighthouse, to walk more in Christ, to be free from the condemnation. We don't want that condemnation standing in our way of us walking in the light as he's in the light. Because if we're carrying around all that extra load of the shame and guilt for all the things that I mentioned earlier, we can't be who Christ called us to be. So we have to deal with those things to be able to move forward to walk in that freedom in Christ.”
