Sermon clips from Cookeville churches

29s
“At your job, are you tired of trying to be good enough yourself and you're you're you face failure and difficulty and struggle and trial? Listen, in every relationship, in every circumstance, and definitely in salvation, your only hope is Jesus. This morning, if you're tired of doing it yourself and knowing it isn't gonna work, stop doing it by yourself or any other way the world might tell you to do it and come to Jesus.”
31s
“Jesus invites you to come and be a part of his family, and he did so by dying on the cross and resurrecting three days later. If you believe that Jesus Christ is a resurrected son of God, if you'll name him as the Lord of your life, submit to baptism where you come in contact with his blood, and all of your sins and failures and shortcomings are washed away, you can rise up to walk in newness of life, and there'll still be struggles, and there'll still be difficulty, but now you've given it to Jesus, and it's not just your seven loaves, or your five loaves, your two fish, or your your inadequacies.”
27s
“Guys don't you get it? Don't you understand who I am? Don't you understand who you're following? Don't you understand what I'm capable of? And you're worrying about things that you shouldn't have to worry about if you're gonna follow me. Now there's a phrase for you. You worry about things you shouldn't have to worry about when you follow Jesus. Is there application in your life today for that?”
28s
“They just want something from him. Their relationship with Jesus is very transactional. How's yours? How's your relationship with Jesus? Are you following him because he's worthy? Are you following him because of what you get out of it? There are blessings abundantly for following Jesus, but he's worthy to be followed even if he gave us nothing. He's the son of God. Let's continue.”

#RepentAndRestore
“The idea that if if you did something wrong and affected other people then you need to do your part to make that situation better. You stole something from somebody else. You can't repent and not give it back. Right? If you hurt someone in some way, when you repent you should do what you can to make the situation better. And again that's not always something we wanna do. We want the forgiveness. We wanna be able to move on, but we may not wanna have to deal with the consequences of our situation. God forgives us of our sins. He he wipes away those sins. He remembers them no more, but that doesn't mean that there won't be consequences in the world that we have to deal with.”

#TurnBackToTheFather
“The opportunity that awaits you this morning is that you have a father in God who is ready to run to you. If you will simply turn back to him. This morning if you've got sin in your life, if you've got struggles in your life, if you've got something has taken you off to a far country in some form or fashion, will you come to yourself, will you come to your senses, and will you come back to the Lord? He is waiting for you and would love nothing more than to run to you in grace and mercy and forgiveness.”
