“``I don't know about you. Sins reign is broken. This is really important. This is what Paul's talking about. You're no longer a slave to sin. Before sin was what? It was a king of your life. Sin was on the throne. That reign, that kingship of your life was broken in regeneration. You became new. No longer do you have a king in sin, but that doesn't mean sin doesn't exist. So sometimes we get confused. And sometimes we continue on living as if sin is the king when Christ has taken the throne. Christ has taken the throne and now it's not it's not sin's castle anymore. Was before, now sin is an intruder. Does that make sense? The tables have turned. Christ has taken a seat on the throne in salvation and justification. Your your relationship is right. Now any sin that's within that castle doesn't belong before it was its throne. Now it's needs to go. This isn't your home. This isn't a place for you. You're intruding. This isn't right. Leave. That is the situation. That's what's happening. That's why sin still exists. Its reign was broken, but sin's presence was not removed.”

This is why it is so important for us to be yielded, submitted, totally submitted to God moment by moment throughout the day because we can do God's will one moment and then fail to do it the next.”

Sometimes people are are upset because they think they're going backwards because stuff is boiling up in their hearts, but it's because the spirit's at work. It's because the spirit's at work. Because your sin is getting burned up. And sometimes when when when the spirit moves into a new room in your heart, the spirit turns a light on, and all of a sudden you can see something that was there and you're like, oh, I'm worse than I was last season with the Lord. But that sin was there. You just didn't see it. And so the spirit is doing a work of righteousness in you and it's like time for this room and there's the sin in you. Don't run. Say praise be to the God who loves me enough to show me what's in me. Don't run. Don't cower. Say I see you now, enemy. I see you now, sin, and your time is coming because the spirit's at work.”

“So should I just go on sinning and take advantage of his grace? Should I go on sinning because his mercy is enough? Because it is enough? What should I go on sinning because because I'm good? Because I've been regenerated? Yes. I still have a fleshy nature. And Paul says, of course, you're not gonna go on sinning. Why don't we sin? Not because we're trying to gain our salvation, but because we've been made new. Why would a new creation do old stuff? And so many of us are going to battle with our sin with the hopes that we're enough. don't battle our sin with the hopes that we're enough. We battle our sin with the victory of the Lord. We battle our sin with the spirit. I fail every time when I come with my flesh to kill my flesh. That's an equal battle. But the spirit never loses.”

“``Adoration, according to who came up with this and also according to my spiritual mentor is supposed to be the first thing you do. You should consider doing in your prayers because you can just sit and spend some quality time adoring god. Just telling god how awesome he is, how majestic he is. Now, god's all knowing, right? So, you're not telling him, I mean, we're we're not trying to educate god in terms of how majestic he is but starting with adoration and spending some quality time there adoring god sets your heart in the right place. It sets your heart in the right place for the rest of your prayers and sets your heart in the right place for the rest of your day and it makes it really difficult to take god for granted when you spend quality time just talking about how majestic god is.”

He walks with us daily in these two passages. One captures the prodigal son, an example of how even when we turn from him, even when we walk away, even when we're in the midst of our sin, all it takes is a slight rotation, a movement, one step back towards our heavenly father and we're told in the passage in Luke that he will not only see us, he will come run to us with his arms open wide and throw a big party that we've returned.”
