This word encouraged is where we get the word parakaleo. Now I'm not trying to impress you. Don't be impressed. It's a Greek word that means to come alongside of someone. It's used in a noun form to identify the spirit of God in John 14. But it's also used to identify Jesus Christ in John 14. The one who comes alongside of us. The one who comforts us. In the old sense of the word, gives us strength and encouragement, stamina, resilience. That's what it means in verse 40.
