``Without words, people will misunderstand. Without us using words, people will misunderstand what we're all about. They'll think it's something else. They'll, like a dog chasing its tail is, in essence, what's going on here. And we see that in our day because there's confusion about what the gospel is. For some, it's bringing food to the poor. That's the gospel. Now, I'm not against bringing food to the poor. I think it's great. I think we should bring food to the poor. But it's not the gospel. Or they think it's some other kind act that the church does. And you might feel like I'm being nitpicky today. I'm not being nitpicky. The message of the gospel is crucial for us to understand. Good works set up the message. Good works are not the message. Good works without gospel words make us look good, not God.
