The purpose of the law is not to tell you do better, try harder, be good, but rather we see, and Paul breaks this down for us once again in the book of Romans, chapter 3, verses 23 and 24. He says, All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, in verse 23. We know this. The Pharisees knew this. We can feel this. But verse 24, Though all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, they are justified by his grace as a gift through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.
