So let's begin by reminding ourselves that David has refused to wear Saul's armor. Right? He will not play by the world's rules of strength and intimidation. He won't pretend to be a warrior when he, in fact, knows that he is a shepherd. Instead, he trusts in the God who has already delivered him from lions and bears. And declaring that the battle is the Lord's victory belongs to God, not to David.
