The kingdom doesn't advance through cultural leverage but through cruciform witness. In other words, the presence of Jesus is strongest when your life and my life looks most like the cross. The deeper theological issue here is not patriotism. Scripture allows, welcomes love of country. Patriotism, loving country is as morally neutral as loving father or loving mother.
