Hired hands will promise, over promise, and under deliver. They'll eventually abandon you. But the good shepherd will lay down his life. The good shepherd will take off his life jacket, hand it to you. And when we follow him, we don't merely survive. We don't merely make it through another day. We receive what he calls abundant life.
