Mt PisgahOften think of the phrase when I'm preparing to preach that my job as the pastor is to comfort the afflicted. But there's another side of that. And we're to afflict the comfortable. You say, pastor, you're to afflict me. It's not really my job to do that. But sometimes the word of the Lord does that. It steps on our toes. It gets us out of our comfort zone. It makes us realize that maybe we need to get up and do more for Jesus.
