Because of how important that treasure is to us. This thing is the thing that we think will protect us. And this thing that we think will protect us will also demand our protection. And so we will allow it to form our hearts into whatever it is needs us to be friends. We're formed by our treasure. Notice Jesus doesn't say that where your treasure is, there your heart is. He says, where your treasure is, there your heart will be. It's a future tense saying, this is formative, this changes you.
