But here in the church, an anchor doesn't stop the storm. It just keeps the storm, it keeps the ship from drifting away. And that is the purpose. You don't throw the anchor out there to stop the storm. If you want to blow it, you don't throw it out there, but you throw the anchor out there to keep it in place, to keep it from drifting. And likewise, your faith won't stop every trial, but it will keep you from drifting into despair.
