Pentecost was not just power manifested. It was purity established. When they walked out of that room, hallelujah, they were completely different than when they walked in. That fire refines, and then it empowers. When they walked in the upper room, what did Peter do? He said there's a matter that we have to resolve. And they got things out of the way so that they would be in one mind and one accord. And then what happened? The power of God fell, and Peter, the same one who denied Christ three times, is the same one who preached with boldness, and thousands came to know Jesus. That's what the fire does. Refined by fire, then filled with fire. That's the pattern. God purifies us so he can pour into us.
