The devil is not so much interested in getting you to reject Christ as he is in getting you to neglect Christ. Because by beholding, you will become changed. And so naturally, by beholding Christ, you are going to become changed. And so what God is not, oh, what the adversary is trying to do, rather, is not try to get you to reject Christ as much as he is just trying to keep you from beholding him.
