Here's the truth. There's not a single path to God. God is so far above us, we never could make it up the mountain. The good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ is he came down from the mountain, picks us up and carries us back up the mountain. Does this make sense? It's nothing we did. It's what he did. So we're so thankful that God calls Samuel. Samuel doesn't call out to God. God calls out to him. And it's only Samuel's job to respond. God wants to have a relationship with him.
