The amazing thing about this city is while these walls are so massive that you would feel absolutely safe inside the city, the gates stay open all the time. Now, if you're gonna really protect the city with a structure like that, you gotta control the gates. You shut the gates and keep people out, and you guard the gates, and you only let certain people in, and you only open the gates at certain hours. These open gates, here's what it means. God is absolutely, entirely able to build what can protect you and make you absolutely secure. But every enemy and threat you could imagine no longer exists. So there's no reason to shut the gate.
